TECHNICAL TIP >>

Obtain images off the Aiphone JF Series intercom.

The JF2 Series Aiphone intercom system comes with built in video memory. That is, every time that somebody presses the call button on the door station, the master unit will take a photo every second for 8 seconds. These images are then stored on the master unit for your viewing.

In a recent case, a caller had pressed the intercom and upon realizing that nobody was home, proceeded to burglarize the residence. Since the JF2 had recorded a clear image of the caller, it would be easy to identify them in relation to the robbery.

How to obtain the images from the master unit:
On the rear of the unit there is a 9-pin plug (supplied). The first 2 pins (brown and red wires, V+ and V- respectively) are the NTSC video output points. Using these wires, you can connect the master unit to an NTSC compatible recording device. Once connected, it is as simple as playing back the image on the master unit and recording the required images.

It is also worthwhile to note that this output is active whenever the station is called, or whenever the menus are active. Therefore, remote viewing is available if you have the JF2 connected to your television.
